Project Title: The Patchwork Collection
Year: 2020-2021
Medium: Upcycled workwear fabric
Created during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, the Patchwork Collection was an exercise in resourceful design and material innovation for the Consistency Project. The project began with a stockpile of hundreds of hem scraps collected from the alteration of Stan Ray work pants. With these discarded off-cuts, I developed a unique formula to meticulously piece them together, creating a new, durable patchwork fabric. This process not only gave new life to discarded materials but also allowed us to create a limited run of about 20 pairs of pants in various styles. This vibrant collection celebrates resourceful design and served as a creative outlet to find purpose and optimism during a time of global uncertainty.
