The Patchwork Expansion was an evolution of our signature upcycling work, broadening our patchwork techniques for the Consistency Project. Building on our initial designs, we introduced new applications and styles to meet customer demand and offer a more accessible price point.
For this collection, we created a more organic and free-form patchwork design. We focused the patchwork on specific areas, such as applying it to the reinforced knee panels of Stan Ray work pants. This provided a unique, custom look without the cost of an entirely patchwork garment.
Additionally, we experimented with mixing different shades of denim, blending light and dark washes to create a more dynamic, varied aesthetic in our Levi's pieces. To address the rising popularity of wider-leg jeans, we developed a new design element: creating a fabric wedge from our "reroll" material and inserting it into the outseam of the pant leg. This innovation gave customers the on-trend wide-leg silhouette they wanted while preserving the classic vintage feel of Levi's denim. This collection represents a blend of creative exploration and practical design, responding to both aesthetic trends and customer needs.
